didnt the nucks draft hodgson like 10th overall, then trade him for kassian and now prust?

going from a top 10 pick to a 4th liner...ouch.

I'm okay with the Prust trade now. That said TL & JB need to figure out a way to increase season ticket sales. Dougie Hamilton has CAL excited, EDM with McDavid etc. A significant trade is the only thing that I think would entice the fans. ??? For Shattenkirk for example. VAN needs to create some excitement, we haven't seen that yet.

Benning is rebuilding the team his way and I'm totally onside with it, as long as the minor leaguers he's given jobs to don't turn out to be Peter Principle case examples. Difficult to see Vey turning into a contributing NHLer so far, but anything beats tanking so I'm on board.

I think it's a decent trade even though people are questioning it in the media. Never really like Kassian's game, Prust is annoying and very unlikeable for opposing teams/fans but seems like a solid pro who does his job. Good addition for the short term, a player that will help give the Sedins a few more years with a competitive team.

Thanks!
Most of the rational ones here are very happy about it. A mentor & protector, good for the young ones coming in.

I'm sure we'll be witnessing some painful games this season, at least we got another guy who brings it.

this is far too optimistic for a mediocre team, they're not bottom 5, they're not making the playoffs

the only reason they made the playoffs was traded away for a 3rd round pick, in no way has the team got any better since losing in the first round

We didn't get better, the team is trying to right the ship. Get over Lack, he's the least of the Canucks worries. Are the playoff's realistic? Probably not. That said let them rebuild.

Prust will be missed. Heart and soul guy. We are curious to see what Kassian will bring to the table. I'm kinda worried about him liking the nightlife in Montreal a little too much...

Best case for Canucks is they resign Prust to a cheaper deal or trade him for a 3rd or so at deadline.

So Hodgson = a possible early or closer to mid rd pick.

Atleast the nucks didnt have to buy him out.

Both teams lose the Hodgson/Kassian trade.

I'm ready to enjoy watching CGY and EDM compete for in the battle of Alberta again. Time for the Canucks to start picking earlier in rounds. The 1 bright spot is they've had 5 1st rd picks in the last 3 years. So not as far behind as they could be. (like toronto - who seem to be doing it right. Loading up on picks).

I saw him play some great games here, he has all kinds of skill. The coach needs to be tough on him, if he smartens up you got yourself a player.

I predict Kassian will start strong, his act will then wear thin with Therrien around December and he'll be a bag of poop again.
